Tell your senators: Rebuild Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands with clean energy

The electrical grids of Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands were almost totally destroyed by Hurricane Maria, causing tremendous hardship and suffering. Power needs to be restored quickly, and it should be done in ways that prioritize the health and well-being of the citizens of our Caribbean islands. But if we don't demand resilience and clean energy, FEMA could rebuild the same old, fossil-fuel powered grids that were in place before the hurricanes. Tell your senators to support funding to restore power and clean water as quickly as possible. At the same time, urge them to require that money spent by federal agencies to upgrade the grid be focused on a cleaner and more resilient electrical grid powered by clean, renewable energy.
